Do's And Don'ts In Interior Designing

My-Do

Dress the window

Whether you go for heavy velvet curtains or fine sheers, we always advise to dress the windows to bring a cozy and warm touch. It is considered that a interior designing without curtains is not finished. But sometimes, when you have a large glass roof or a window with special frames, the curtains are useless. They can even come to hide the originality.

Do not mix different metals

Copper, gold, brass, silver. In interior designing, it is customary to say that you have to choose sides because the metals do not mix harmoniously. We can even play with the types of finish:matte and shiny.

Choose a neutral color sofa

The sofa is an expensive piece that does not change every year. In interior designing, it is therefore often recommended for a matte color, gray, beige, brown, which will not go out of fashion too quickly and will harmonize with the changes in decoration. That's true, but why restrict yourself, especially if you have a real crush for a particular tone?Today, there are cheap models that allow you to have fun, but also allows to change color according to your desires.

Do not mix

If you do not want to make a mistake, the ideal is obviously to buy furniture of the same style but if we dare a little, the mix and match creates very interesting results. For example put different chairs around the same table. In interior designing, To start without risk, the ideal is to maintain a certain harmony by remaining in the same color palette.

Avoid dark colors in small rooms

This is the basic point in interior designing. As one always prefers to enlarge the space one has, one generally avoids to paint the small rooms with dark colors at the risk that they appear smaller and less luminous in interior designing. But we can also play on this effect to assume the size of the room and make it even more intimate. It works well in an office, a dressing room, a bathroom for example.

Paint the ceiling in white

Interior designers will tell you, when you paint a ceiling in a darker color than the walls, it gives the impression that it is lower. It is customary to paint it in white to bring light and height. If the room is sufficiently large and bright, you can completely get away from it and bring a touch of originality by painting the ceiling of color. If it is very low and you still want to have fun, we just choose a lighter shade than the rest of the room.
